Nov 2009 -- Ethics as a Weapons System
Capt Mike King briefs local vendors at FOB Salerno, Afghanistan on ethics
in US Government contracting. Promoting ethical procurement practices goes a long way
in fighting corruption. The briefing was part of a larger program management review conducted
at Salerno's Regional Contracting Center on 31 Oct 09.

Nov 2009 -- DFL Reunion
On 9 Oct 09, the USAFA Department of Law (DFL) hosted 18 former JAGs who,
as USAFA faculty members, taught in the mid 1970s to mid 1980s. The guests included Barry
Hammill, Kevin Donovan, Joyce Spisak, Bill Henebray, Frank Dodge, Ken Bunge, Rob Schaefer,
George Ash, Bob Craig, Marty Jayne, Tom Pillari, Mark Sucher, Mike Donnelly, Pete Harry,
Dick Lee, Merrell McIlwain, Kirk Samelson, and Rob Wilson. It was a great event that
included these former DFL members attending a few law classes. Additionally, new DFL
faculty members engaged the 18 former DFL faculty members on matters ranging from teaching
to officership. Huge kudos to Barry Hammill for organizing this reunion.

Nov 2009 -- The Joy Dunlap Family Service Award
At KEYSTONE 2009, Lt Gen Rives announced the creation of
new JAG Corps Annual Award, the Joy Dunlap Family Service Award. This new award recognizes
the JAG Corps family member who, through contributions of his or her time and talents,
has made a significant contribution to the strength, health and welfare of the JAG Corps
family.

Nov 2009 -- Kadena's Team JA Celebrates Promotion
Effective 1 October 2009, then-SSgt Gabrielle M. Prebula was promoted to
the rank of Technical Sergeant. Way to go Gabby; we are so proud of you!

Nov 2009 -- Proud Parents
Miss Jessalyn Bialke, daughter of Col "Dutch" and Mrs. Kate Bialke, was
recently crowned Seoul American High School's Homecoming Queen. Her election is especially
remarkable because Col Bialke, United States Forces Korea DSJA, and his family just PCSed
to US Army Garrison-Yongsan, Seoul, South Korea this past summer. Jess, a senior, is
hoping to secure an appointment to the US Air Force Academy where she would like to pursue
a degree in English.

Nov 2009 -- AOR Legal Team Honored
Lt Col Natalie Richardson, 380 AEW Staff Judge Advocate, and MSgt Shawn
Brooks, 380 AEW Law Office Superintendent, were recently recognized for their superior
work to the deployed men and women assigned at 380 AEW. Lt Col Richardson and MSgt Brooks
were recognized as Wing Staff Agency Team of the Month for September 2009 and MSgt Brooks
was recognized as the Wing Staff Agency SNCO of the Month for September 2009. Pictured
