SD's Mission
To enhance the war fighting capability and combat readiness of the Marine Corps through the leadership and management of a vibrant Marine Corps safety program containing integrated force preservation measures and a focus on mishap prevention through the direction and implementation of policies on safety, risk management, and occupational health programs.
SD's Vision
To develop a Marine Corps culture where safety is an integral part of mission accomplishment and where aggressive force preservation and safety are not the exclusive domain of the safety office, headquarters, commander, executive officer, deputy, or Serageant Major but rather resides at all levels of the Corps with safety and force preservation as everyone's goal and responsibility.
