Unit Description

USCGC MANOWAR is the thirtieth vessel of the Marine Protector Class of 87-foot Coastal Patrol Boats built at Bollinger Shipyard, Inc. in Lockport, Louisiana. These cutters replaced the aging 82' Point Class cutter. The cutter makes its home port in Galveston, Texas.

Area of Responsibility

MANOWAR is responsible for Search and Rescue coverage and mission tasking within the bounds of Sector Houston/Galveston's area of responsibility (AOR). It covers roughly 200 miles of coastline from the Colorado River in Texas to the extreme eastern edge of Cameron Parish in Louisiana.  This area includes the ports of Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Sabine, and Freeport in Texas, and Lake Charles in Louisiana.
