As its contribution towards enhancing the country’s competitiveness amongst knowledge-based economies in this Millennium, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Technical Staff released the 2012 Philippine Statistical Yearbook.
Ms. Malou Mangahas of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ), Ms. Iris Gonzales of Philippine Star and the Special Assignment Team of GMA News and Public Affairs were adjudged top winners of the 4th National Statistics Month (NSM) Media Awards. Their news reports best exemplified media's contribution in promoting and communicating statistics and its importance in decision-making through relevant, accurate, effective and professional handling of statistical information.
It’s all systems go for the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) as it celebrates the 23rd National Statistics Month in October. Various statistical activities are underway to highlight the annual celebration, which aims to promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics and at the same time ensure the support of the public in improving and enhancing the quality and standards of statistics in the country.

The Philippine Statistical Yearbook (PSY) presents in time-series, historical information about the country’s macro and micro environment. These statistics are taken from the surveys and censuses conducted by statistical agencies, the records of administrative and regulatory agencies of the government, as well as the data compiled by local and international organizations. |
The NSCB Annual Report presents the agency’s accomplishments during the year and all other relevant information about the NSCB such as the agency profile, summary of outputs, significant achievements, manpower and financial resources and the listing of its Technical Staff and The Executive Board. |
