Hispanic Outreach and Leadership at Armstrong (HOLA) helps create a clear college path for Latinos with its second annual program for high schoolers and their families, Domingo Universitario (University Sunday).
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia has begun a national search for a new president of the University of Georgia. The Search Committee, created as outlined in board policy, will guide the first stage of the search.
Armstrong Assistant Professor of Biology Melanie Link-Perez and student Hunter Seabolt are reviving Armstrong’s Greenhouse and once-dormant Herbarium, which was started in 1967 and catalogs and archives more than 5,000 dried botanical specimens.
Dr. Ruth-Marie “Rhee” Fincher, Professor Emeritus and inaugural Vice Dean for Academic Affairs for the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Health Sciences University, recently received the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Abraham Flexner Award for Distinguished Service to Medical Education.
Dr. Melvin Steely, University of West Georgia professor emeritus, was recently honored with the Governor’s Award for the Arts and Humanities.
