Annual Passes and Discounts on the BW&T

Fees are collected from visitors for the use of specialized sites and facilities such as swimming beaches and boat launching ramps. Fees are not charged for drinking water, wayside exhibits, overlook areas, picnic tables, toilet facilities, or general visitor information.

User Fees at BW&T are charged for some Boat Launching Ramps, all Swimming Beaches, all Group Picnic Shelters, and all Class A Campground Campsites.

Types of Discounts and Passes

The Corps honors the Senior and Access American the Beautiful Passes but is currently not authorized to issue them. These passes must be obtained from other federal land managing agency including those run by the USGS, US Forest Service, National Park Service, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Holders of an American the Beautiful Senior or Access Pass or Golden Passport Senior or Access Pass may purchase one Corps of Engineers annual pass at 50% discount, provided they purchase the pass in person. This 50% discount is also good for Campsites, Group Picnic Shelters, Beach and Boat Launch use.

Golden Passports, both Access Pass and Senior Pass, are still honored at Corps recreation sites. However they can no longer be issued by the Corps.

Annual passes can be purchased at any of our Campground Gatehouses or at the Demopolis or Holt Resource Offices. Annual passes are sold for a fee of $30 per pass. Annual Passes are good for one calendar year from the month they are purchased. (For example, a pass purchased in February 2012 will be valid through February 2013).

Annual passes allow entry to Corps operated recreation areas but do not allow entry to campgrounds. Passes are hangtags that are typically hung from the rearview mirror. A sticker is available for open-type vehicles such as motorcycles and jeeps.
