aEstimates of the number of AIDS-related deaths by gender,
age, and race/Hispanic origin were made by applying the percentages
based on DCRP data to the estimated total number of AIDS-related deaths.
bTo calculate the rate, the number of state prisoners by age was
first estimated by applying the age distribution reported in the 2004
Survey of Inmates in State Correctional Facilities to the 2004-2006
midyear custody counts in NPS-1.
cExcludes persons of Hispanic or Latino origin.
