NOAA PMEL Ocean Climate Stations are moored buoy reference stations. The data are used to:
- detect rapid changes and episodic events, as well as long-term changes in the climate system,
- identify physics and parameterizations that will improve weather forecasting and climate models, and
- evaluate the accuracy of satellite products and model output.
The OCS program encourages broad use of the data and welcomes collaboration.
