This section provides information about forest planning, current projects and forest resource management and programs.
Planning
The Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act (RPA), as amended by the National Forest Management Act (NFMA), establishes a process for developing, amending, and revising land management plans for units of the National Forest System. Click on the Planning link above to access the Inyo National Forest’s Land Management Plan, completed in 1988, as well as plan amendments and monitoring reports.
Projects
Under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the environmental effects of a proposed activity on National Forest or other federal lands must first be analyzed, with opportunity for public comment, before a decision is made on whether or not to undertake that activity. Click on the Projects link to find information about site-specific projects on the Inyo National Forest, including NEPA analysis status and environmental review documents.
Resource Management
The Forest Service manages the national forests for a number of multiple uses, including recreation, timber, wilderness, minerals, water, grazing, fish, and wildlife. Click on the link above for more information about how these resources are managed on the Inyo National Forest.
Geospatial Data
