Matt also participated in and led official school visits to Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Matt graduated in 2006 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mathematics, and a Commercial Pilot License. At Embry-Riddle, he served for two years as the student body president and as a member of the university’s board of trustees and faculty senate.

Matt enjoys reading, flying, traveling, and weight training. His significant other, Daniel, and their beloved rescue dog live in Seattle.
