Kathleen McGettigan was appointed Deputy Associate Director for Human Resources Solutions in 2011. HR Solutions provides reimbursable human resources products and services to meet the needs of the Federal government. It offers solutions in areas including staff acquisition, recruitment and branding, HR strategy, leadership training, and workforce planning.
Ms. McGettigan served as Deputy Associate Director for the Center for Retirement and Insurance Services from 2003 - 2010. In that capacity, she was responsible for provision of retirement and insurance benefits to over 8.5 million customers, including Federal employees, retirees and their dependents.
She has held several other positions within the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) since joining Federal service in 1991. These included Deputy Associate Director in Federal Investigative Service and Chief Financial Officer for the agency. She also managed OPM’s Information Technology mainframe resources.
Prior to entering the Federal sector, Ms. McGettigan was a senior Accountant at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, a Senior Examiner at the American Stock Exchange and Vice President and Divisional Controller at Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated, the international investment banking firm.
Ms. McGettigan, a Certified Public Accountant in New York State, earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration degree in Taxation from St. John’s University in New York City. She has been awarded the OPM Director’s Award for Distinguished Leadership and the Office of Personnel Management Medal for Meritorious Service, the highest honor bestowed by OPM.
