Protection

ARL's program in Protection seeks to provide innovative technologies that enable the preservation of the effectiveness and survivability of individual Soldier systems; manned and unmanned air, ground and sea platforms; command posts and other high valued assets against a spectrum of threats.

Materials & Manufacturing Science for Protection

Materials & Manufacturing Science for Protection

Develop new materials (metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, and nanomaterials) and structures that offer significant weight reduction with improved performance, multi-functionality, durability, and cost reduction for the protection of individual Soldier systems; manned and unmanned air, ground and sea platforms; command posts and other high valued assets.

Vehicle Protection

Vehicle Protection

Develop and optimize advanced multi-threat and hybrid armor, mine blast protection, ballistic shock mitigation, and crew protection technologies to enable protection of Current and Future Force combat and tactical vehicles.

Individual Warfighter Protection

Individual Warfighter Protection
