The Research Library is pleased to provide LANL customers with Reaxys®, a web-based resource containing experimentally validated data on chemical compound properties, structures, single and multi-step reactions, and catalysts. Reaxys merges data (reaction, substance, citation) from journal and patent literature of chemistry and contains historical information from many respected chemistry handbooks dating back to 1771. Reaxys access is a free trial available through July 2012.

Reaxys merges content from three major data sources:

    • Beilstein Handbook of Organic Chemistry - structures, reactions, and properties of organic compounds
    • Gmelin Handbook of Inorganic Chemistry - structures and properties of inorganic and organometallic compounds
    • Patent Chemistry Database - selected English-language organic chemical patents (U.S., European and World)

Benefits:
    • Saves research time since data is provided from both journal and patent literature.
    • Access to experimental reaction and substance data dating back to 1771.
    • Interface tools enable filtering, exporting or generation of additional data.
    • A synthesis planner helps design the optimum synthesis route.
    • A complimentary tool to CAS SciFinder - a comprehensive index of chemical-related information 1907 (or earlier) forward.
