MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTION

SUBJECT:  United States Army Garrison Humphreys Policy Letter #60, Private Rental Housing for US Service Members

1.  The proponency for this policy is the Directorate of Public Works, Family Housing Division.

2.  This policy is effective immediately.  It remains in effect until rescinded or superseded.

3.  Purpose.  To establish private rental agreements for US Service Members that corresponds with their tour of duty (24/36 months).

4.  Policy.  All Service Members, when entering into a new lease, must obtain a lease for the full duration of their assignment to USAG Humphreys.  This will allow the Garrison to fully support stabilization of our command-sponsored families.

5. The Housing Service Office (HSO) will not approve or process Overseas Housing
Allowance (OHA) entitlement for private rental agreements that do not reflect the full duration of a Service Member’s assignment. 

6.  Service Members must inform the realtor, agent and/or landlord when viewing private rental property of their assignment duration.  Rentals should only be shown to Service Members that can meet their tour duration.

7.  Realtors, agents and landlords who are unwilling to offer private rental agreements that correspond with a Service Member’s tour of duty will not be afforded the opportunity to list or rent their property to US personnel.
