Hot Articles: new service

See what other people are reading with “Hot Articles,” a new feature on the Research Library home page. This service shows you, based on real usage data, what is hot in the sciences in the scholarly community.

You can change the subject area using the drop-down menu. In each subject area, the bX Hot Articles service displays a list of the 3 articles that researchers selected the most times in recent weeks; click More… to see the top 10. If you select All Subjects, you see the top articles overall.

Library's New Internal Web Page

The LANL Research Library has released its newly designed internal website, which should provide easier access to the resources that LANL researchers and employees need. And with this new design comes a new URL. The Research Library homepage will now be found at http://int.lanl.gov/library. The library link from the LANL homepage also will direct you to the new site. Don’t forget to update your bookmarks to reflect this change.

Also, to ease the transition between the old and the new sites, a link to the old webpage will be available from the new one for a short period of time.

SIAM eBooks available through Research Library

The LANL Research Library has recently purchased access to SIAM (Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics) e-books. The SIAM e-book collection, a recommended resource for mathematical statistics, covers applied mathematics and computational science. Online versions of nearly 400 books published by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) over the last 50 year are available. Newly published titles (2011- ) are available immediately. These titles can be accessed and searched via the SIAM e-books website.

Reaxys: Search chemical compounds, reactions, patents and more

The Research Library is pleased to provide LANL customers with Reaxys, a web-based resource containing experimentally validated data on chemical compound properties, structures, single and multi-step reactions, and catalysts. Reaxys merges data (reaction, substance, citation) from journal and patent literature of chemistry and contains historical information from many respected chemistry handbooks dating back to 1771. Reaxys access is a free trial available through July 2012.

Reaxys merges content from three major data sources:
