Yuehe Lin Elected to American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering's College of Fellows

Yuehe Lin at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is an AIMBE Fellow.

Congratulations to Dr. Yuehe Lin at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory being named to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering's (AIMBE) College of Fellows, Class 2013. This honor is given to people in research, industry or education who provide leadership and significant contributions in medical or biological engineering. The inductees, who were nominated by their peers, were screened by committees of Fellows within their specialty and were finally elected by the full College as the official Class of 2013.

Lin's research focuses on developing nanobioelectronic devices and nanomaterials for diagnosis and drug delivery. For example, Lin is developing chemical and biological sensors based on functional nanomaterials, like protein cages, quantum dots, carbon nanotubes, and graphene, that interact with peptides, enzymes, antibodies and DNA. The technologies he's developing could be used for early diagnosis of diseases and for effectively delivering drugs to fight diseases.

He is a prolific author and editor. He has published about 300 papers, with approximately 12,000 citations and an H-index of 60. He is the editor of Handbook of Electrochemical Nanotechnology and a section editor of Encyclopedia of Microfluidics and Nanofluidics. He serves as the associate editor for the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and is a member of the editorial advisory board of 20 international journals. He has over 10 patents, with half licensed to industrial partners for commercialization.
