Student of the Month - November

Sanira Sanira with elementary students after an International Education Week presentation. Sanira, a student from Kyrgyzstan, jumped into her exchange year with both feet. Within the first two months of arriving she participated in a regional math competition, a regional solo competition, and joined the volleyball team. She has completed 32 hours of volunteer service in activities as diverse as helping out at the nearby science center, humane society, and community Halloween events, and in her host school's library and German club. Sanira is very conscientious about her school work and is an excellent representative of Kyrgyzstan. Not only is she an "A" honor-roll student but she also gives Kyrgyz presentations to elementary classes, doing all of them during her study hall so not to miss any classes. Sanira has done such a great job on her presentations that she has received more requests as word spread. She has graciously agreed to all requests, even though it means more homework for her. "Her work ethic and consistently upbeat attitude set an example for her classmates and she has earned the respect and affection of staff and students alike."

Congratulations Sanira!
