Q1. Am I eligible for a CDL grant to help with the costs of attending a truck driver training school? A1. No. At this time FMCSA does not award grants to individuals to assist in receiving actual training for operating a commercial motor vehicle. Also, if the training school is associated with a technical college or community college that is recognized by the United States Department of Education, attendees may be eligible for financial assistance. See www.studentaid.ed.gov for more information. Q2. I am an owner-operator and would like to expand my business by purchasing an additional commercial motor vehicle.
