Legacy Treasury Direct® Account Information

In Legacy Treasury Direct, you maintain your account via the web, our toll-free phone line, or paper forms.

These services are available from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except holidays, year round unless otherwise noted:

  • Check account balance
  • Change address or phone number
  • Order Statement of Account
  • Order duplicate 1099-INT (February through November)

Unless otherwise specified, these services are available from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except holidays, year round:

  • Check account balance
  • Order Statement of Account
  • Order duplicate 1099-INT (February through November)
  • Pay account maintenance fee (24 hours, seven days; spring to summer or fall)
  • Speak with customer service representative (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except holidays)

Forms

You can download or order forms online or order them by calling 800-722-2678. Some of the forms used most often are:

  • Transaction Request (PDF 5178) changes a bank account, address, name on account and more.
  • Security Transfer Request (PDF 5179) transfers securities out of Legacy Treasury Direct or between accounts.

Mail Notifications

You will receive periodic communication from us by mail. The information you will get includes:

  • Tax Forms that report your annual earnings.
  • Statements of Account provide details on your holdings. You can request a Statement of Account online or by phone.
