The Board also recognized the musical achievements of orchestra students at Watauga High School.  The press release on their recent accomplishments is available by clicking here.
WCS Educators Visit Pakistan in Second Phase of Pakistan/U.S. Exchange Program
Pakistani student Bilal shares a smile with Russell Hiatt, social studies teacher at Hardin Park, Mary Smalling Hardin Park principal, and Emily Rothrock,  AIG teacher at Hardin Park.  Bilal was one of the students who came to Watauga County in November, spending several weeks in the U.S. before returning home. A representative of each participating school (Green Valley, Hardin Park, and Watauga High School) presented a plaque to a Pakistani counterpart during the visit, reciprocating a similar gesture from the Pakistanis during their stay in Watauga County.  Above, Mary Smalling with Faiza Umair, principal of the Cambridge School for Boys.
Above, Hardin Park's Mary Smalling and Emily Rothrock are dressed in Pakistani attire, accompanied by several of their hosts, including some of the Pakistani girls who attended Green Valley School during their trip to Watauga County.
