The three pillars of sustainability are: Environment, Equity, and Economy. These “three Es” must remain in balance; neglecting even one of the pillars results in a shaky system. This is why the City of Dallas is committed to ensuring that resources are available for future generations, while protecting the quality of life of current residents and the vitality of our businesses today.
In 2012, the Office of Environmental Quality developed the City’s first Sustainability Plan, which is continually updated to serve the ever-changing needs of our growing communities.
