Secretary Salazar supports
full funding for the Historic Preservation Fund.
At the September 16 meeting of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar spoke of the importance of the America's Great Outdoors initiative, and the role of historic preservation in the effort. He stated support for full funding of the Historic Preservation Fund as part of the iniative, going further by saying that $150,000,000 was not enough.
This follows the July 29th policy statement released by the Obama Administration stating strong support for "funding for land and water conservation and historic preservation projects that prioritize the needs of the Nation based on competitive process."The full statement can be found by clicking this link
