What does sustainability mean?

Sustainability is about using our available resources such that they remain available for future generations.  It is about maintaining an environment that is safe and secure. It is about balancing economic, social and environmental needs for the long term.

Why doesn't the Laboratory replace the Spedding Hall windows?

The Laboratory maintains a list of large sustainability and maintenance projects.  These are risk ranked and prioritized on a yearly basis.  The replacement of the Spedding Hall windows is a project we know is one that many people would like to see done.  It has yet to rise to the top of the list.

How much of the Laboratory's energy comes from renewable resources?

20% of our electricity comes from renewable resources.

I have an energy savings or recycling idea.  Whom do I contact?
