Applying for disability benefits while working

Can I work and apply for Social Security disability benefits?


A person can work and apply for Social Security disability.  We use the term “substantial gainful activity” to describe a level of work activity and earnings.  We use substantial gainful activity as one of the factors to decide if you are eligible for disability benefits.
