Recommended time to make camping reservations and group day use shelter reservations
•February 1 Victoria Day Use Area Opens
•March 1 Riverside, Galt's and Coopers Furnace Day Use Areas open
•March 22 Sweetwater and Victoria Campgrounds open
•March 24 Allatoona Lake Operations Project Management Office and Visitor Center open for weekend business, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
•March 29 McKaskey, Payne, and Victoria Campgrounds open
•April 1 Tanyard Creek, Clark Creek South, and Knox Bridge Ramps open**
•April 21-27 National Volunteer Week
•April 20 Old Hwy 41 #1 and Sweetwater Day Use Area open
•April 22 Earth Day
•April 22 Clark Creek, Upper Stamp Creek and Old Hwy 41 #3 Campgrounds open
•May 1 Cooper Branch #2 Day Use Area opens

•September 2 Day Use Areas closing for the year: Cooper Branch #2, Knox Bridge**, Victoria Beach, Tanyard Ramp**, Old Hwy 41 #1,  Clark Creek South Ramp, Sweetwater DU, and Upper Stamp Creek Campground.
•September 3 Campgrounds closing for the year: McKaskey, Sweetwater, Payne, Clark Creek North, and Old Hwy 41 #3
•September 28 The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup
•September 28 National Public Lands Day
•October 5-6 The Battle of Allatoona Pass
•October 7 Victoria ampground closes
•October 31 Victoria Day Use Ramp closes
•December 1 Riverside and Coopers Furnace Day Use Areas Close
