11/1/2011 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials selected 487 of 2,201 eligible senior master sergeants for promotion to chief master sergeant for a selection rate of 22.13 percent.

The average score for those selected was 659.88, with an average time in grade of 3.09 years and time in service of 22.85 years respectively. The average score was based on the following point averages: 134.98 for enlisted performance reports, 24.39 for decorations, 68.38 for the Air Force supervisory exam and 383.12 board score.

The chief master sergeant promotion list will be released publicly at 8 a.m. CST on Nov. 3 on the Air Force Personnel Center's public website and on the Air Force Personnel Services at https://gum-crm.csd.disa.mil. Airmen will also be able to access their score notices on the virtual MPF and the AF Portal.

Those selected for chief master sergeant will be promoted according to their promotion sequence number beginning in January, officials said. As a reminder, the selections are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which is no later than 10 days after the promotion release date. The AFPC Enlisted Promotions Office will notify Airmen through their military personnel section if their selection is in question.

The selects' board score was 280...not so sure this is what the Chief's Group considers the top 1 percent of the Air Force. I believe this select should have been NFQ. The career field had 2 eligible and both made it.

Someone made Chief without a perfect EPR score....amazing. The individual must have aced the exam to have made up for the resulting low board score. Gives some in the ranks hope.
