6/19/2012 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO - RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials selected 8,518 of 37,402 eligible staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant for a selection rate of 22.77 percent.

The average score for those selected was 321.94, with an average time in grade of 5.39 years and time in service of 10.58 years, respectively. Weighted factor averages included the following: 132.69 for enlisted performance reports, 5.59 for decorations, 75.37 for the promotion fitness exam and 55.39 for the specialty knowledge test.

The technical sergeant promotion list will be released publicly June 21 at 8 a.m. Central Daylight Time at www.afpc.af.mil and https://mypers.af.mil. Airmen will be able to access their score notices on the virtual MPF and the AF Portal.

Those selected for technical sergeant will be promoted beginning in August according to their promotion sequence number. As a reminder, the selections are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which is no later than 10 days after the promotion release date. Personnel officials will notify Airmen, via military personnel sections, if their selection is in question.

Holzworth@Hawaii. This baby boomer who is computer challenged hit on the AFSC by mistake. Open list press F3 and enter AFSC you are looking for in the block that pops up at top right. Enter through list. They will be highlighted.

@Bobby Scott AFB Not everyone works in their career field like me therefore we are not efficient on our SKT knowledge. I for one scored higher on the PDG as I have been out of my career field at a ROTC unit for 4 years.

I agree Bobby at Scott AFB. What also blows my mind is how little today's Airman knows about our military history or heritage. Go and ask one who was the 3rd, 4th or 5th CMSAF. You will get the deer in the headlights stare.

For those that misinterpreted the fitness exam for the PFE perhaps you missed change to the cover of your study guide. It is now known as a Professional Development Guide-PDG. I think the original post was referring the fitness testexam.

so why if we get MSgt selects with enough time to vet them before making the announcement do we not even get the TSgt selects an hour early so that we can do up the certificates?

@ Fat to Fight AND @Thomas C...It blows my mind that people continue to refer to the Promotion Fitness Exam as the PT test. If you don't know what you're talking about please post somewhere else to keep from looking...well...silly.

You can find the past few years cutoff scores if you google waps calculator.But as far as this years cutoff you'll have to wait till they are released.Good luck SSgt's

@Fat to fight...I wish PT scores were a factor in promoting...you'd either see a lot less people promoted or a lot more motivated to get in shape...

75.37 on the Fitness Exam And yet people strive for 90s. This is proof that a 75 is PASSING That is IT Doesn't matter if you get a 75 or a 95 on your fitness test you are fit to fight if you PASS

It blows my mind that people can know 75 percent of the PDG and only 55 percent about the job they do every single day

Fat to fight you are wrong. Promotion fitness exam or PFE is the test taken over Air Force history etc and the Skill knowledge test is over the AFSC specific tasks

@ Fat to Fight....Wrong kind of fitness exam you must be thinking of the Physical Fitness testing. The promotion fitness exam is testing military history and customs and courtesies.
