One of the few Fulbright programs that exclusively serves institutions, SIR funds the work of Visiting Scholars hosted by Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, Native American tribal colleges, community colleges and small, liberal arts institutions. Your institution is invited to learn how SIR can help advance its international presence, assist in faculty and curriculum development, and diversify the educational experiences of its students, scholars and surrounding community.

If you are an Aspiring Fulbrighter outside of the United States, SIR is an opportunity to gain experience in U.S. higher education. Although there is no application process akin to that of the traditional Fulbright Program, you are invited to submit qualifications to Fulbright Commissions and Public Affairs Sections of U.S. Embassies abroad. You can also learn more about how your colleagues outside of the U.S. have used SIR to polish their lecturing and inform their own research.
