Speical Events Permit at Allatoona Lake

Special Event Permits

Special events and activities held on Corps of Engineers property, including waters, such as fishing tournaments, boat regattas, weddings, rowing events, special recreation programs, or other organized events are prohibited unless written permission has been granted by the District Engineer.  The Corps manages events through a Special Events Permit Program that is designed to: minimize scheduling conflicts by groups, prevent overuse of the lake, ensure equal access to recreation areas, and enhance public safety.  A Special Events Permit is required for any event or activity and a permit must be obtained from the Allatoona Lake Project Management Office at least 30 days prior to the event or activity. This permit is in addition to any permits that may be required by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GDNR) for water related events.  For more information concerning a GDNR Marine Permit please visit http://www.goboatgeorgia.com/node/375.

FISHING TOURNAMENTS:   A minimum $50.00 fee will be charged for each permit issued with 10 or more boats.  A single permit can cover up to 15 tournaments.  This $50.00 fee does not preclude the Day use Fee of $3.00 or $4.00 depending on which public use area is used.   Valid Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Passes will also be honored.

BOAT REGATTAS: A minimum $50.00 permit fee is charged for each group up to five (5) regattas.

OTHER EVENTS:  Organized events on government property, including waters, such as weddings, graduations, rowing, or other events are required to have a minimum $50.00 Special Events Permit. Reservation of an entire park will not be permitted.

EXCEPTION:    Rental of a group shelter for a wedding, whereas the wedding is held under the

shelter, will not be required to obtain a Special Events Permit.

APPLICATION PROCESS: Special Events Permit completed application forms along with the $50.00 permit fee will be accepted for events or activities to be held during calendar year 2012.   Special Events Permits applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis.   Faxed copies of the application form will not be accepted since the $50.00 check or money order for the permit fee must accompany the completed form.  The completed Special Events Permit or Fishing Permit application form and $50.00 check or money order (made payable to “NRRS") can be mailed to:
