Bike Trails at Allatoona Lake

Sorba Blankets Creek Trails 

Recent collaborations between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southern Off Road Bike Association (SORBA), and Cherokee County Recreation Authority have resulted in construction of the Blankets Creek Trails, consisting of 13.6 miles of off-road bicycle trails.  The new North Loop has been complete and now open to the public. The trailhead is located off of Sixes Road at Blankets Creek in Cherokee County.  For information regarding the bicycle trail at Blankets Creek, please visit SORBA Woodstock Blankets Creek website.

Taylor Randahl Memorial Bike Trails

At Olde Rope Mill Park

 

City of Woodstock Olde Rope Mill Park is the starting point for recently constructed Sorba bike trails. The 6.5 mile Avalanche Trail consists of three loops of intermediate trails following the Little River. Please check the Sorba Woodstock website for current status and information.

Red Top Mountain State Park  

Iron Hill Trail - length: 3.9 mile loop   difficulty: moderate    blaze color:  blue   Trailhead location: The parking lot for this trail is located of Red Top Mountain Road, on the right a half mile past the campground.  It is a graveled trail that is accessible to both hikers and bicycles.  From the parking lot, follow the directional signs to the trailhead.  This scenic trail is a loop that winds along the banks of the lake through a historic area that was once home to an active iron mining community in the mid 1800's.  Along the way you have the opportunity to observe both native wildlife and a profusion of native plants.

Allatoona Creek Regional Park

Six Bike Trails - Total length: 5.50 miles difficulty: moderate

Located in the northwest portion of Cobb County, this park consists of 1,450 acres leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Large open fields give way to forest as the property connects to Lake Allatoona. Two creeks, Little Allatoona & Big Allatoona, merge as you near the lake. Cartersville Parks and Recreation  

Pine Mountain Trail- Total length: 4.38 miles difficulty: moderate/strenuous       Trailhead location: GA Highway Spur 20 near the Bartow Beach Rd turnoff. 

This is a City of Cartersville trail open 7 days a week for hiking; mountain bike usage only on Wednesday & Saturdays. Bikes must follow directional sign on those days. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.                                               There are several loops for hikers with 6 different blaze colors.                              Mountain Bike schedule:                                                                    Wednesdays (orange route)  Saturdays (blue route)                                Mountain Bikers must wear helmets.
