2013 INCITE

Please Note: The 2013 INCITE Call for Proposals is now closed; awards will be announced by January 2013.

Your next opportunity to apply for an INCITE award will be during the 2014 INCITE Call for Proposals, which will open in the spring of 2013. Please continue to check back here for updates and developments. In preparation for an INCITE proposal, you may request a Director's Discretionary allocation at the ALCF. For details, visit Getting Time at ALCF. For more information on the INCITE Program, see www.doeleadershipcomputing.org.

About the Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment Program (INCITE)

Open to researchers from academia, government labs, and industry, the Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment (INCITE) Program is the major means by which the scientific community gains access to some of the fastest supercomputers. The program aims to accelerate scientific discoveries and technological innovations by awarding, on a competitive basis, time on supercomputers to researchers with large-scale, computationally intensive projects that address "grand challenges" in science and engineering.

Sixty percent of ALCF and OLCF resources are allocated to researchers through the U.S. Department of Energy's INCITE program. In November 2011, INCITE awarded 732 million compute hours on ALCF supercomputing resources to 31 projects. Read more about these projects and INCITE at the ALCF here. The 2013 INCITE Program will award compute time on the IBM Blue Gene/P (Intrepid) and IBM Blue Gene/Q (Mira) systems at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility and the Cray XK6 (Titan) system at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility. INCITE proposals are accepted between mid-April and the end of June of the year prior to the award year. See the proposal submittal site (http://hpc.science.doe.gov) for the most recent call for proposals.

Start-Up Awards through the ALCF Director's Discretionary Program (DD)

Director's Discretionary allocations are “start up” awards made to projects of interest and to potential future INCITE projects. More information about applying for this program can be found on Getting Time at ALCF.
