Draft Indicators for Third Edition of ACE

EPA is working on a new edition of America’s Children and the Environment. Drafts of the indicators planned for inclusion in the Third Edition of America’s Children and the Environment (ACE3) are now available. EPA accepted public comments on the draft indicators from March 8 – April 21, 2011. The public comment period is now closed.

America’s Children and the Environment
brings together, in one place, quantitative information from a variety of sources to show trends in levels of environmental contaminants in air, water, food, and soil; concentrations of contaminants measured in the bodies of mothers and children; and childhood diseases that may be influenced by environmental factors. For a guide to all of the measures included in this site, see the Summary List of Measures.

NOTE: The links below and those to the left will take you to the current (updated in 2010) measures in America’s Children and the Environment, not the draft indicators proposed for ACE3. For the ACE3 draft indicators please visit the ACE3 draft indicators page.
