More than a walk on the ramp

An Early morning walk on the 433rd Airlift Wing's C-5 parking ramp is more than a stroll. Wing members pay special attention to the ramp surface searching for any debris that could cause Foreign Object Damage, like this wire. The prevention of FOD damage is a daily event for flight-line workers, but each Monday, members from all accross the wing join in and perform a FOD walk that covers every inch of the paved parking area. Paint brings more light to inspection hangar

The 433rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron inspection hangar floor recieved a new finish reducing the risk of slipping and greatly improving the use of hangar lighting. The reflective nature of the paint-on floor increases visibility during inspections and will allow the maintainers to see leaks and imperfections during the inspection of C-5 aircraft. The increased visibility in the hangar makes it a safer and more efficient work environment for the AMXS maintainers. (US Air Force photo/ Master Sgt. Laurence Tilghman)
