Command Safety Officer

Now that you have become a safety officer or safety professional, what does that job entail? For your responsibilities as a collateral-duty safety officer, use the afloat, ashore, or aviation tab for your specific community.

Requirements for the Safety Technician NEC 9571.

As a safety officer, you are responsible for ensuring that your command receives an Industrial Hygiene survey on a periodic basis. This survey may be scheduled and obtained through your supporting medical treatment facility (MTF) or Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit (NEPMU).  Contact your supporting MTF and NEPMU for industrial hygiene services.
