ANNOTATION: 'The following [publication] offers guidance to those tasked with the procurement of an automated information solution (e.g., case management system) for a community corrections agency. Currently there is a lack of concise literature to assist probation or parole agencies looking to procure or build systems that will support both their internal needs and their external information sharing needs ' Herein the process of planning and procuring a system is streamlined for the probation and/or parole professional or related information technologist. Our focus is on helping the community corrections agency prepare for technological change by describing the process from beginning to end in an easy-to-understand and straight-forward manner' (p. iii).
