What We Do:
The mission of the NIDA Ethics Program is to support the NIDA mission of leading the Nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. To achieve that, ethics staff assist NIDA staff to meet the requirements of the statutes and regulations governing behavior of employees of the Federal Government. These government ethics rules prohibit employees from participating in any activities that conflict with, or appear to conflict with, their official duties. Employees must not participate in official decisions which affect their own financial interests, or the financial interests of certain other individuals, organizations, or entities.
