Changes to Web Governance under One EPA Web

Web Governance Background

EPA.gov is governed by CIO policy 2180 (formerly 2191), Web Governance and Management (PDF) (4 pp, 85K). This policy sets forth a management structure, with roles and responsibilities to guide the Agency today and long into tomorrow. This policy breaks Web management responsibilities into two parts:

• Content, led by a National Web Content Manager in the Office of External Affairs and Envrionmental Education.
• Infrastructure, led by a National Web Infrastructure Manager in the Office of Environmental Information.

The two national managers work with program office and regional Content and Infrastructure Coordinators through the Web Council. See the Council membership list below to find your representatives. Working together, the Web Council sets priorities for EPA's website, establishes procedures, standards and guidance, and coordinates web efforts across the Agency.
