NOTICE - Changes to FT-920: Merchandise Trade Highlights

Beginning with the release of the January 2011 statistics scheduled for March 10, 2011, the U.S. Census Bureau will publish a redesigned version of the FT-920 – U.S. Merchandise Trade: Selected Highlights.

The new FT-920 will consist of eight exhibits and will feature expanded port data. No data will be lost in the shift to eight exhibits; some exhibits will be merged or streamlined to remove redundancies.

Currently, the FT-920 includes vessel and air data on the district level. The expanded port series will cover each U.S. port on an individual port level. This series is slated for release as Exhibit 1a (for exports) and Exhibit 4a (for imports).

Both the new and the old FT-920 will be published simultaneously for the statistical months of January and February 2011. After the February data release, only the new FT-920 will continue to be released each month.

For examples of the exhibits in Excel format, go to http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/Press-Release/2010pr/11/ft920/index_new.html.
