Colonel Lillian Anita Dixon

Colonel Lillian Anita Dixon is a native of Fort Dix, New Jersey. She is a 1985 graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, where she earned a bachelors degree in Political Science. In 1985, she was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Adjutant General's Corps. Her military education includes the Adjutant General's Corps Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College and attendance at the National Defense University, graduating from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces with a Master's Degree in National Resources Strategy. She holds another Master's Degree in Business Administration from Averett University, Danville, North Carolina.

Colonel Dixon's initial assignment was to Headquarters Company, United States Army Garrison, Presidio of San Francisco, California where she held a variety of staff positions in the Military Personnel Division. During this tour she was a member of the Women's All-Army and the Armed Services Basketball Teams.

In 1990, she commanded the Pentagon Operations Company, the Pentagon. In 1993, she was reassigned to the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Belgium. She commanded Headquarters Company, United States Army Element (USAE); served as the Secretary to the General Staff; Trip Scheduler to the SACEUR/Commander-in-Chief, United States European Command; and Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, USAE, SHAPE.

In 1996, she was assigned to the 1st Armored Division, Bad Kreuznach, Germany. She deployed during IFOR and SFOR1 to Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. During her second deployment, she served as the Strength Manager/Deputy G1. Her final assignment in Hanau, Germany was as the Executive Officer, 55th Personnel Services Battalion from 1998-1999.

In 2000, she was selected as an Army Congressional Fellow and served as a Military Aide to Congressman J.C. Watts, Jr. - 4th District, Oklahoma. Upon completing her tour on Capitol Hill, she served as Executive Officer/Aide-de-Camp to the Director, Military Personnel Policy, Army G1.

In 2002, she commanded the 203d Personnel Services Battalion, United States Army Alaska. She was honored by selection as Military Volunteer of the Year in 2004. Following command, she returned to the Office of the Chief of Legislative Liaison as Executive Officer, Programs Division and Deputy Chief, House Liaison Division.

From 2007 – 2010, COL Dixon served as the Garrison Commander United States Army Basic Combat Training Center of Excellence and Fort Jackson, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was responsible for all installation management functions to include Human Resources; Logistics and Engineering; Law Enforcement; Legal Services; Emergency Services; Plans, Mobilization and Security; and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.

She deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as part of United States Forces-Iraq in August 2010 and served as the Chief of Staff, Iraq Training and Advisory Mission – Ministry of Defense and Senior Advisor for Personnel to the Iraqi Deputy Chief of Staff Personnel, Joint Headquarters Iraq. Upon redeployment in August 2011, COL Dixon was assigned to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, Human Resources Policy Directorate, where she currently serves as the Deputy Director.
