is responsible for developing
and recommending all domestic and international inspection and enforcement related policy for
the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Compliance Assistance
FSIS provides information to producers and agricultural
businesses to help them maintain compliance with federally
defined regulations for their establishments.
Labeling and Program Delivery Division
The Labeling and Program Delivery Division (LPDD) develops policies and inspection verification
methods and administers programs to protect consumers from misbranded and economically adulterated
meat, poultry and egg products such that all labels are truthful and not misleading.
Policy Operations Division
The Policy Operations Division (POD) is responsible for
coordinating administrative activities within OPPD and for improving controls and communication
within the Office.
Policy Analysis Division
The Policy Analysis Division (PAD) develops and conducts sound and consistent economic
analysis of preliminary, final and existing agency regulations and policies, identifying
regulatory alternatives, economic and social impacts, and ascertaining consistency with agency
policy.
Policy Development Division
The Policy Development
Division (PDD) provides leadership in the identification of policy needs and the subsequent
development of policy solutions to address the intent and application of verification and
enforcement policy in in-plant activity.
Policy Issuances Division
The Policy Issuances Division (PID) provides leadership
for the analysis and development of Agency
regulations
and associated issuances (FSIS Notices and Directives),
and for the Agency’s petition process. PID ensures
compliance with relevant legal requirements, program
needs, and policy priorities.
Risk and Innovations Management Division
The Risk and Innovations Management Division (RIMD) is
responsible for
compliance guideline development and coordinates the
development and implementation of Agency programs to
foster the development and facilitate the use of
new
technologies.
International Policy Division
The International Policy Division (IPD) develops and communicates policy for all aspects of FSIS'
international program. IPD works closely with the Office of
International Affairs on import
and export policies, equivalence determinations, inspections at port of entry and audits of
foreign systems.
