Transfer to Disposal-RCRA Subtitle C Surface Impoundments
Surface impoundments include natural topographic depressions, man-made
excavations and diked areas that primarily are made of earthen materials
and which hold liquid wastes. These uncovered areas are commonly used to
volatilize and/or settle materials. RCRA Subtitle C surface impoundments
are those surface impoundments which are authorized under the Resource
Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to accept hazardous waste for
disposal. Data from Section 6.2, Code M66, on the TRI Form R. For
reporting year 2002, these amounts were included in Section 6.2, Code M63.
Prior to reporting year 2002, these transfers were included in Section
6.2, Code M72 (Transfers to Landfills/Disposal Surface Impoundments).
