Information, Plans and Programs Branch (JAI)

JAI is responsible for providing overall management of all information technology activities and operations of the Judge Advocate Division (JAD). The JAI Branch serves as the principal advisor to the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) regarding the use of information technology to increase productivity and efficiency of military legal practice services in the Marine Corps.

Software

  • Application Licenses.  Most applications that the JAD and HQMC release to the fleet have program licenses.  You must have the product key to install some of these applications but other applications you must make sure you have the license before you complete installation.  If you do not know if you have an application license, please contact the JAI Webmaster.  If you do not have a license you will have to purchase it through the application's vendor before you install the application on the computer.   
     
  • Electronic Benchbook 2012  This applications is available through for download.  Here is the Link to manually download.  The instructions to download the application is on the link.  This application does not require a license. Download the thumbdrive version.
     
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 This application is certified and able to be downloaded to your computers.  Licenses are to be issued to units from HQMC JAD. For additional licenses requests please send to JAI Webmaster. Submit a MAC request to have it installed. Contact your CTR to submit your MAC request. 
     
  • DissoMaster 2010-1 This application is approved for use in DADMS and able to be purchased for stand alone computers.  You can purchase the software through http://west.thomson.com/dissomaster/. 

Note:  You must order the correct version number listed above.  DissoMaster Suite is a Windows-based CD-ROM application that calculates family law child- and spousal-support based on California family law and relevant tax codes. The software has been approved by the Judicial Council of California for use in all state courts.

  • Total Eclipse  This application is certified and able to be downloaded to your computers.  Submit a MAC request to have the application installed. Contact your CTR to submit your MAC request. 
  • DL Will 10  This application is certified and able to be downloaded to your computers.  Contact JAL or JAI for instructions on how to download the application.

Once you have this application installed on your computer the vendor does post free updates that can be downloaded to your computer.  Please go to Draftinglib.com for the updates and follow the directions on the webpage to download it.
