Vacancies
Recent vacancies across ARS have created challenges both in the preparation of plans and for their peer reviewers. Vacancies have varying impacts on a research plan. Thus, there is no single solution for how to address them in the plan. OSQR has developed a series of scenarios intended to illustrate the range of ways plans with vacancies could address the issue. See here for information.
Best Practices
Recent discussions of the ARS Peer Review Focus Group have centered on assessing best practices for success in peer review from across the agency. While not intended to replace guidance in the OSQR Handbook, the resulting document does provide much useful information to aid Areas and individuals in the development of plans for review. Integration of Project Plans
An issue has come to our attention of late regarding integration of the elements of a plan, which needs some clarification. Please note, this is not a new rule/guideline but a reminder of something that we have said for many years.

Examples of Successful Plans
OSQR regularly receives requests for examples of plans which received high review scores. There are number of sources OSQR recommends for finding examples of high-scoring plans to use as guides ( click for full story…).
Postponement Guidelines
The Postponement Guidelines (Bulletin 07-601) have been replaced by Appendix 13: Postponement Guidelines in the new OSQR Handbook. This represents a change to the location of this information but not to present practices as the OSQR, in cooperation with Area PAs implemented the procedures described in Appendix 13 more than a year ago.
