Offered by the Kentucky Community & Technical College System, this program is a practical and realistic introduction to the early childhood profession. This program satisfies the requirements for the Kentucky Caregiver’s Certificate and satisfies a portion of the training component of the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. (Twenty hours of field experience required.) Upon completion, students will be able to, but not limited to, identify common childhood diseases, learn the nutritional needs of children, the principles of development, appropriate strategies and techniques for collaboration with families and colleagues, and keeping records of child data systematically.
