Location #9: How Green is the Big Apple?

2011 July 11

Humans and nature existing in harmony, meeting current needs of a society without compromising those needs for future generations, is sustainability.

Through your camera, what does sustainability look like in New York City?

Submit your photos to State of the Environment AND ALSO to EPA’s hot-off-the-press New York City blog! Greening the Apple is now hosting its first reader submitted photo contest and wants your best photos of sustainability in the city from now until August 12th, 2011. Submit your photos to both projects on Flickr for two opportunities for recognition.

New York City has long experienced social, cultural, and technological renewal. How has the environment fared as a result? In the City that never sleeps, has the constant activity become more sustainable?

Submit photos of sustainability in New York City to: A Greener Apple and to State of the Environment
