Directions
If you are traveling north on I-5
- Take the Madison St./Convention Place exit.
- Stay straight to go onto 7th Ave.
- Take the first left onto Madison St.
- Turn right onto Alaskan Way.
- 1483 Alaskan Way Pier 59 is on the left.
If you are traveling south on I-5
- Take Union St. exit, exit 165B.
- Stay straight to go onto Union St.
- Turn left onto 5th Ave.
- Turn right onto Madison St.
- Turn right onto Alaskan Way.
- 1483 Alaskan Way Pier 59 is on the left.
Construction and road closures
Elliott Bay seawall project
- The Aquarium is open as usual, and will be throughout the entire seawall construction project. Driving routes to get here remain the same and, as always, there’s plenty of parking at Republic Parking’s Hillclimb Court and the Pike Place Market Garage. Alaskan Way viaduct
- Starting April 29, the Alaskan Way viaduct will be closed for approximately two weeks. We will be open as usual during the viaduct closure, with easy access via surface roads and plenty of parking nearby.
- For information on the Alaskan Way viaduct construction, go to the WSDOT website.
Walking / waterfront bus / biking
The Seattle Aquarium encourages visitors to consider
climate-friendly choices for your next visit.
- Metro Transit offers many bus routes to take you within a 15 minute walk of the Aquarium.
- From downtown, walk down the Pike Street Hillclimb via the Pike Place Market.
- Metro's Route 99 travels north on First Avenue from the International District and Pioneer Square to Broad Street, then south along the Waterfront on Alaskan Way where it stops in front of the Aquarium.

Parking
Four-hour metered parking is available along Alaskan Way. Republic Parking Hillclimb Garage and the Pike Place Market Parking Garage are also located across the street from the Aquarium.

Receive $1.00 off your fee at the Republic Parking Hillclimb Garage per hour parked with maximum of $3.00 discount per visit after 10am. Present your parking ticket to the Aquarium's customer service desk to receive the stamp. Then put your membership name/number on the parking ticket before paying when exiting the garage.
