Military:

The Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) program works hand-in-hand with the Air Force Survivor Assistance Program and Airman & Family Readiness Centers to ensure Airmen receive professional support and care from the point of injury to no less than five years after separation or retirement.

Safe Harbor is the Navy’s lead organization for coordinating the non-medical care of wounded, ill, and injured Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and their families. More than five hundred Sailors and two dozen Coast Guardsmen along with their families are enrolled. Through proactive leadership, they provide a lifetime of individually tailored assistance designed to optimize the success of our Shipmates’ recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration activities.

The Warrior Transition Command (WTC) develops, coordinates, and integrates the Army’s Warrior Care and Transition Program (WCTP) for the wounded, ill, and injured soldiers, veterans, and their families or caregivers in order to promote future success in the force or civilian life. WTC serves and supports more than 15,000 wounded warriors, both active and retired.

The Wounded Warrior Regiment’s mission is to provide and facilitate assistance to wounded, ill, and injured Marines, Sailors attached to or in support of Marine units, and their family members throughout the phases of recovery.

Non-Military:

The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world—in emergencies. Each year, in communities large and small, victims of some 70,000 disasters turn to neighbors familiar and new—the more than half a million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross. Through over 700 locally supported chapters, more than 15 million people gain the skills they need to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, communities and world.

The Ride 2 Recovery (R2R) is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation, (501C3) in partnership with the Military and VA Volunteer Service Office, to benefit mental and physical rehabilitation programs that feature cycling as the core activity.

The United Services Organization (USO) lifts the spirits of America’s armed forces and their families. USO provides a touch of home to troops wherever they serve through centers at airports and military bases around the world, top quality entertainment and innovative programs and services tailored to meet the needs of troops and their families. The USO is not a government agency and relies on the generosity of the American people.

The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the sole entity in the United States whose mission involves training, entering and underwriting the full expenses for the U.S. teams in the Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, and Parapan American Games. In addition to being the steward of the U.S. Olympic Movement, the USOC is the moving force for support of sports in the United States that are on the program of the Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, and Parapan American Games.

USOC Paralympics Military Program was founded through a rehabilitation program developed for wounded World War II veterans and now provides rehabilitation support and mentoring to American servicemen and women who have sustained physical injuries. Veterans are introduced to Paralympic sport techniques and opportunities through clinics and camps. They are also connected with ongoing Paralympic sports programs in their hometowns.
