2013 Annual Meeting

The theme of the 2013 EMI SIG Annual Meeting is Harnessing the Winds of Change.

Meeting Registration

Online meeting registration is open February 4–25 for the 2013 EMI SIG Annual Meeting, which is scheduled to be held at the the Hyatt Regency
Chicago, 151 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, May 6-10. Please review the preliminary agenda and indicate on the registration form which sessons and activities you plan to attend. (Click on Annual Meeting Registration and enter your email and password. If you don't remember your password, click on the Forgot Password option.)

Participant Fee

A $100 fee is payable in advance. The online registration form should be completed before making payments by credit card or check.

Personal or company checks should be made payable to ORAU, Inc., and the participant’s name(s) should appear on the check. Mail check to:

Cancellation and Fee Reduction Policy

The registration fee will be refunded if notification of cancellation is given by April 5, 2013, to Louise Wyatt (Louise.Wyatt@orise.orau.gov) or Dorothy Cohen (Dorothy.Cohen@orise.orau.gov). Requests for refunds due to emergency situations that occur after that date may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Anyone participating in any part of the EMI SIG Meeting or related activities, including training, is required to pay the total amount of the registration fee. The fee will be waived in situations dictated by federal regulations or by unusual practical considerations.

Hotel Information

The 2013 EMI SIG Annual Meeting will be conducted at the the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois.

Sleeping Room Reservations

A room block has been reserved for the EMI SIG Annual Meeting participants at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Reservations can be made online at http://resweb.passkey.com/go/emisig2013 or by calling
1-888-421-1442 and referring to the EMI SIG room block. The room rate is $171 per night plus tax (currently 16.4% percent). The deadline to make hotel reservations is April 12; however, reservations should be made as soon as possible to ensure the government per diem group rate at the Hyatt Regency.

Transportation

O'Hare International Airport is 18 miles from the hotel, and taxi fees are approximately $30 to $40 one way.

Parking at the hotel is $52 per day. The use of rental cars is discouraged to save on travel expenses.

Presenter Information

A new SharePoint Site has been created for the EMI SIG Annual Meeting presenters. It contains resources for your convenience. Presentations and biographies should also be uploaded there. If you do not currently have a SharePoint account, please email Louise Wyatt to request one.

TRADEing Post

All TRADEing Post displays must be registered by using the Display Registion Form, which is due by March 15, 2013.

The TRADEing POST will be open from Monday through Wednesday. Attendees are invited to showcase current emergency management activities and are welcome to share ideas about emergency management training and other technologies. All exhibits must meet TRADEing POST criteria. Exhibits can be set up on Sunday, May 5,
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Monday, May 6, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Shipments should be sent to the hotel to arrive no earlier than five days prior to the meeting.
