Military Safekeeping for Savings Bonds
Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS)
Active duty members in all military branches who purchased paper savings bonds through payroll allotment deductions may request that your bonds be held in safekeeping until you request them rather than having the bonds issued and mailed directly to you.
Note: Treasury phased out the issuance of paper savings bonds through traditional employer-sponsored payroll savings plans as of January 1, 2011. See our FAQ.
