ANNOTATION: “The New York City Department of Correction is committed to providing victim friendly, victim focused services to all crime victims. It is fundamental to our vision, mission and values. Accordingly, the following Crime Victim’s Bill of Rights is established specifically for all of us who are members of the Department of Correction workforce.” It establishes what can be relied upon from the Agency if the individual is a victim of a crime committed while performing their duties, as a victim of a crime off-duty, or as an immediate family member of a victim of violent crime.
